Hey, that sounds like a good idea!
I love reading the reveiws of new albums in Rolling Stone. I would love to be an album reveiwer for all my favourite ones (but none of them are new...). I could never be a music critic though, its hard for me to say mean things about any kind of music besides rap and hip hop really. And I'm not even too harsh about these two sometimes. I don't like to hurt people's feelings because I know it's hard for some to get the guts to perform or open their writing to the public.
I'll check out the new blog.
